    Classroom Management Philosophy
In a well-managed classroom, every student is engaged with the lesson and has positive relationships with all their peers. It starts with building healthy and strong relationships with and among students. This involves accommodating my students’ needs and using outside resources for my students so that they are successful and safe. Minimizing the negatives in my classroom is essential, which is why it is important to check in on my students and ensure that they are actively involved in their learning.
I want my students to understand that the feedback they receive from me is for their future growth and success. My hope is that my class is a motivating factor for students to come to school to learn. As a result, this is why I differentiate my lessons to make them exciting. In addition, it is important to ensure that the standards and expectations that I have for my students and myself are established so that my students know what to expect from themselves and me. Communication with students’ parents is essential, and I not only want them to know what they can improve on, but what they are doing exceptionally well in my class. I want everyone to know that they are welcomed and that my classroom is fun and a safe place for students to learn.
In my classroom, I want to cultivate a growth mindset in my students. For me, this means encouraging students to view both formative and summative assessments as opportunities for growth, not fixed indicators of their abilities. If a student receives a grade that they know doesn’t reflect their best work, I don’t want them to think, “This is the grade I’m stuck with.” Instead, I want them to reflect on what they can do differently, identify areas for improvement, and take steps to grow—not just as students, but as individuals. My goal is to create an environment where students are always looking for ways to improve, willing to try new strategies, and eager to develop skills that will help them succeed both in school and in life.
